The Greeting Farm - Farm Fresh Friday Challenge

Hello everyone!  This week over on The Greeting Farms Blog is a fantastic challenge!  You are to create a project using TGF as a focal image, but the challenge is "The Great Outdoors!"  At first I thought to myself, how in the world would I create that because I didn't have any outdoors theme stamps! BUT....here's what I came up with and I think it works well together!

I used "Cheeky Shooter" and decided to color her in spring/summer colors, while still trying to keep her background rustic and outdoorsy (if that's a word! lol).  The papers I used are from the MME Miss Caroline Howdy Doody 6x6 paper pad.  I used the four seasons fence die from CC Designs and added some ribbon, flowers and butterflies from my stash.  The sentiment came from TPC Studio "Slice of Life" stamp set. Finally, I added stardust stickles to her hat, shoes and gloves and glossy accents to her gun.

If you are interested in participating in this weeks FFF Challenge, you still have time!  Click HERE if you'd like to find out more details and participate!

Paper Smooches Picture Perfect Challenge July 22-28

Hello everyone!  This week over on the Paper Smooches Sparks Blog is a really fun challenge!  You are to use this following photo as your inspiration for your project:

Keeping is amazing photo in mind, I created this card:

I used Tim Holtz inks in Black Soot, Barn Door and Wild Honey to create the color gradation then used Paper Smooches "thanks" die, which can be found HERE.  I wanted to focus on the negative that the "thanks" created so i popped the entire card up on pop dots do give it depth, then pieced the inner parts of the "thanks" back together all on a black card base. Finally, I added some white dashed lines to give it a frame and added a cpl little butterflies in the same gradation and added glossy accents on them.

I have to say I absolutely LOVE how easy this was to put together and it came together so quickly!  What a fabulous way to create a handmade thank you note to send to someone special!

If you'd like to play along with this weeks challenge, head on over to the Paper Smooches Sparks blog HERE and join in on all the fun!

Paper Smooches Cool Shades Challenge July 15-21

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Today I started my day with this project for the Paper Smooches Cool Shades Challenge.  The challenge was to use the following color scheme (grey, blue, red and white/ivory):

For this project, I decided to pull out some winter stamps and go with a "country" feel!

I started with a craft card base and took 2 snowflake stamps and stamped them with versamark.  Then i decided to take the small round circle stamp and add in some white flakes.  After that, I added a hill from MME Sweater Weather Paper pack.  I chose this snowman because of his simplicity feel with the hat and scarf...there was already a lot going on with the hills :).  I paper pieced his hat and scarf with more of a red paper from the same paper pad. Then decided to cut the "thanks", which is Paper Smooches "Thanks Word" die, out of the same color so it all tied together.  Finally, using the stamp "My coolest friend", I chose to just ink up the "coolest friend" and curve it to fit the shape of the hills!  Finally, I added a few touches by using liquid pearls to the tip of his hat and a stardust glitter pen to some of the snowflakes and to the top of the hill.

All of the stamps used in today's card came from Paper Smooches "Swanky Snowdudes" which can be purchased HERE.  The "Thanks Word" die can be found HERE.  You have all week to play along on the Paper Smooches Sparks blog HERE.  Come along and join in on the fun!

Paper Smooches Designer Drafts Challenge July 8-14~ #3

If you've been following my blog this week, you will notice by now that I just can't get enough of this sketch that is over on the Paper Smooches Sparks blog this week for their challenge!

It seems as though every moment of my down time, which isn't much, this sketch is all I think about!  So with that being said, here is yet another project that I have created:

With this card, I decide to start with my water color paper, craft sheet and Tim Holtz distress inks.  after getting the background the way I visioned it, the rest of it just fell together!  I used Paper Smooches Promenade stamp set which can be purchased HERE.  I kept my copic strokes very loose and thin to create the "wood" look to the door.  Then after some fussy cutting and foam adhesive, I added some stickles to the awning and glossy accents to the lantern and....tada! lol

I have loved every moment of this sketch this week! Thank you PS for all the inspiration!  You still have some time to play along! If you'd like to join in or just take a look at all the fabulous entries, visit Paper Smooches Sparks Blog HERE.

Paper Smooches Trend Watch Challenge July 1st-7th

Hello everyone!  If you are a follower of the Paper Smooches blog, then you know that this week's Trend Watch Challenge theme is "Ocean."  You are to create a project that has the ocean as the focus or a part of your project.  If you're not a follower of Paper Smooches, check their sparks challenge blog out here.  There are so many cute projects with fish, dolphins and other aquatic theme cards that I felt the need to challenge myself and step outside of the box.  So...with that being said, here is what I created:

I wanted to simulate the idea of the owl being stranded on the ocean, stuck on a bed of leaves.  I used the FREE owl and leaf images on the Paper Smooches blog and created the water with blue paper from the MME 6x6 Happier paper pad and 2 layers of vellum.  After popping up the leaves and owl's on foam adhesive, I used firefly stickles on the leaves and glossy accents on the owl's eyes for dimension.  The sentiment came from the "Slang Gang" sentiment set which is AMAZING and can be purchased online here.

I had so much fun challenging myself within this challenge that I can't wait to see what next weeks new challenge is!  lol  :)
