Hello Sunshine Ice Cream Layout

Hello Lovelies!

Nicole here and today I have a fun, summer ice cream layout using the fabulous embellishments from the July Freckled Fawn Embellishment Kit! Here's a look at my final layout:

When I began my layout, I chose my background paper and embellishments to color coordinate together. Because the background paper had so much going on, I didn't add any mists to it like I normally do. I put my focus all on my embellishments.  I chose to place my photo on the bottom left corner this time with my title centered below the photo.  I layered my pink embellishments over the pink area of the paper and the same with the blue embellishments over the blue area of the paper. They add a lot of detail, but color coordinate together so it doesn't take to much of the focus away from the photo.

I used the chipboard stickers and also the Doodle Phrase Rubber shapes in several places on this layout. I also added in enamel dots and tangled thread behind these embellishments to add a little more detail.

Above my photo, I added a yellow tag, more of the chipboard stickers and rubber shapes, an acrylic heart and the ADORABLE ice cream cone paper clip included in this months kit!! I had a hard time not hoarding this paper clip, but I had to use it because it fit so well.

Lastly, to balance the layout, I added a small embellishment cluster in the top right corner of the page. I used the ice cream cone chipboard sticker, a phrase sticker, enamel dots and more tangled thread.

Here's another look at the final layout:

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope I've inspired you to layer up your colors and not be afraid to use your embellishments!  <3

Freckled Fawn Sketch Challenge & Layout!

Hello Lovelies!
Nicole here and today I have a fun, clean and simple layout using the July Freckled Fawn embellishment kit and the July sketch challenge. Here's a look at this months sketch:

...and here's a look at my final layout...

I absolutely ADORE this months kit! The colors are bright and the fonts are perfect! I started by splashing the background with some mists from my stash behind where I knew I wanted my main clusters to be. Here's a closer look:

Once those areas were dry, I began layering my photo first because I knew I wanted to use the larger chipboard banner as a larger focal point below my photo around my title. The alphas in this months kit are perfect for titles!

Once my banner and title were in place, I added in a few more of the chipboard pieces and a rubber embellishment on the left of my photo.

I love the "Shine On" and "Summer Bliss" embellishments and thought they would work perfect with this pool picture of my son and his friends at his birthday party!

Lastly, I added in two of the acrylic hearts, washi tape and a few more of the chipboard phrase stickers to finish off my embellishing. I did add in my date above my photo on a label sticker and added in my journaling below the photo.  Here's another look at my final layout:

If you would like to play along with this sketch, you have until August 2nd! Visit their blog HERE for all the details and to link up!

Thanks so much for joining me today!
Until next time, have a colorful day!

Memories Made in Flip Flops Layout

Hello there Shimmerz Fans!!!
Nicole here, and today I have a fun, colorful layout to share with you!
I have been playing around a lot lately with dimensional pieces and pastes on my layout and love the look it gives when layered over other Shimmerz Paints!
Here's a look at my final layout:

The very first thing I did on my page was I began by misting the entire background with one of my most favorite Shimmerz products, Shimmeringz Baby's Breath.  This mist is full of a white/clear shimmer with no color to it, fantastic for adding to backgrounds and adding shimmer to just about anything! I misted the entire background of my page as you can see here:

Isn't that stunning?! It adds tons of shimmer to my patterned paper!

Next, I used AcriTonez in Pinkadelic and watered it down with my brush and used it as the packaging technique. Since I didn't gesso my background, this paint was great to use since it is self priming. As that was drying, I painted some wood veneer flowers in the same color to tie everything together.

Once those layers were dry, I used Paste-eez in Peach Fuzz for the stenciled circles.

Once all of my layers and wooden embellishments were dry, I built all of my embellishment clusters, layered my photo and added my title and date.  Here's a look again at the finished project:

Thanks for joining me today! I hope you have a fantastic week!
