Paper Smooches Trend Watch Challenge Sept 2-8

Hello everyone!  Today I have a very fun project to share with you!  Paper Smooches is having a challenge on their blog this week and it's their Trend Watch Challenge!

This weeks inspiration comes from this photo:

Our challenge was to create anything with flowers.  So with that being said, here is the card I created:

I didn't have any Paper Smooches flower stamps so I dug deep in my mind and came up with this!  For this card, I actually used 3 different Paper Smooches stamps sets.  They are: Bee Mine, Giddy Bugs and Perpetual Bliss. I used 1 heart stamp from the Perpetual Bliss for one of the flowers, Bee Mine I used one heart for the second flower, the squiggly line for the flower stems & the lady bug. And for Giddy Bugs, I used the butter fly, motion stamp and the sentiment.  Wheeeeww!!!  That was a lot of description for this quick and easy card!  I used Studio Calico Snippets 6x6 paper pad for the grass, diamond stickles for the butterfly wings, recollections bling for the flower centers and glossy accents for the two hearts.  Did a quick wash of copic colors on the butterfly and used a lot of my blender!

I think it turned out soooo cute!  I love the squiggly lines for the flower stems!  It makes them look so whimsical!  I will definately use that combination again!  This just goes to show that you can create a lot more with stamps you have on hand already!  I could have went and bought a new set with flower images, but instead I used my creativity and came up with this super cute layout!

Make sure you hop on over to the Paper Smooches Sparks blog HERE to participate in this challenge or any others AND for tons of inspiration!!!!

Not2ShabbyShop DT Project 3 ~ Paper Piecing

Hello everyone!  I have another project to share with you all that I have created for the Not2Shabby Shop on Zibbet!  For this project, I used the "Fru Fru Birthday" stamp set, which is a new release for August 1st, 2013, for The Greeting Farm.  For this project, I wanted to use the girl image as my main focal point of my card.  I decided to paper piece her with light colored paper for a more delicate feel.

The paper I used came from the MME Follow Your Heart Be Happy 6x6 paper pad.  I copic colored her skin, hair and the blue areas of her dress and hat and the hearts.  For the boarder, I used my American Crafts Chestnut stamp marker and added some bling from my stash.

I have to thank Jo Thompson for her fabulous inspiration for this project!  You can see her fabulous project HERE.

If you'd like to purchase this stamp set or another others, including new releases, please check out Jamie's Not2ShabbyShop HERE.

Not2ShabbyShop DT Project 2 ~ Altered Item

Hello everyone!  For the month of August, Jamie challenged her design team to do an altered project to showcase her new flowers in her shop!  Let me just say that these are the most beautiful, colorful and well made flowers that I have ever worked with!  I chose to do an altered picket fence box that I picked up at Michael's:

The box was unfinished and I chose to do a light white paining as the base color and then dry brushed a grey over top of it.  I used the flowers from Jamie's shop, bling from recollections, Prima wood veneer leaves that I misted and a butterfly from my stash.

If you'd like to purchase the flowers that I used in my project, visit Jamie's Zibbet shop HERE for these items and much, much more! ....including fabulous stamps and new releases!

Not2ShabbShop DT Project 1 ~ Inktense Pencils

Hello everyone!  I am absolutely thrilled to be chosen for the Not2ShabbyShop Design Team for the month of August!  Jamie, who is Scrappin Stampers on YouTube, is the shop owner and she was amazing enough to send me The Greeting Farm's new stamp "Fru Fru Birthday" and a bag of BEAUTIFUL flowers that she is now carrying in her shop on Zibbet, which can be found HERE.  For my first project, I created this card:

I used my Inktense pencils and water brush to color her.  I used papers from the Doodlebug Designs Flower Box 6x6 paper pad and the gorgeous flowers that Jamie carries in her shop!  For the finishing touches, I used stardust stickles on her dress and hat, Pearl accents on the 2 hearts on her presents, enamel dots from my stash and finished it off with the sentiment that came with the stamp set.

If you'd like to purchase this stamp set or the flowers seen here, please visit Jamie's shop HERE.

I used this cute little bird and balloon image and copic colored him.  He's just so stinkin cute!!!  The papers I used came from the MME Lime Twist Life of the Party 6x6 paper stack.  I added some pink and red twine for the bow and added black dashed lines for interest.
