Fun & Sun Layout | Shimmerz Paints

Hello Shimmerz Fans!

Nicole here and today I have a super fun and colorful 12x12 layout to share with you!  Today's layout features the July Missy Whidden kit exclusive cut file designed by none other that Paige Evans herself! Here's a look at my finished project:

I'm using the Crate Paper and Maggie Holmes Sunny Days collection from Joann's. I recently picked up quite a few of the elements from this collection and love how this turned out! I began by gessoing a sheet of navy paper and added several layers of Shimmerz to create the background behind the circle cut file.  I used Coloringz Heidi Ho Blue, Vibes Jeni B Bleu and Spritz Sapphire for the blue area and Coloringz Lil Yellow Skool Bus and Vibez Sunset Strip for the yellows. Just look at all that shimmer!

After the paint was all dry, I backed my cut file and glued it to my circle background, which I eventually cut out and glued on a sheet of coordinating pink paper. I added my photo, title, embellishments and journaling around the cut file and that was it!
Here are a few other close ups of my finished project...

Here is a list of the Shimmerz products used in today's project:

Everyday Beach Layout | Shimmerz Paints

Hello Shimmerz Fanz!

Nicole here and today I'm sharing a sneak of something exciting and fun coming to the Shimmerz Facebook group! Here's a little hint of what the surprise is without giving it away....first, you MUST be a part of the Shimmerz Facebook group, second, you'll need to be in the group by the first day of summer, which is next Friday, June 21st and last, but certainly not least, Paige Evans maaaaay play a role! LOL! Before I give away the whole surprise, here's a look at my layout for today's project:

For today's project, I'm taking a BEAUTIFUL cut file and using just a portion of it to create a multi photo layout. I did to the traditional backing of the cut file with a few patterned papers, however, I also created my own pieces to paper piece with using just three Shimmerz paints! The colors I used today were all three original Shimmerz in Pip, Pip Cherry-O, Anchors Away and Bumbly Bee. I used these in various saturation levels on the beach ball, sun and also the beach umbrella.  Here are a few close ups....

I did use papers from a Paige Evans collection to back the flip flops, star fish and sand bucket.  To add another layer, that didn't take too much away from the focus of the squares, I used Paste-eez Puttin' On The Glitz behind each of the nine squares to add another touch of shimmer and brighten the blue background paper.

Lastly, I used different bits and bobs from a few of Paige's collections to embellish the rest of my layout!  Here's one last close up:

Happy & Grateful Layout | Shimmerz Paints and Paige Evans Cut File & Horizon Collection

Hello Shimmerz Fans!

Nicole here and today I'm sharing a very dimensional 12x12 layout with you!
This is one of those types of layouts that I probably will not put in an album. Instead, I'll hang this  on my office wall. For this layout, I used a cut file by Paige Evans to create rolled flowers. Here's a look at the completed layout:

Everyone, please meet Cooper!  Cooper is our now 15 week old Golden Retriever! On this day, Cooper and I were sitting on the sofa and I attempted some "selfie" like photos and snapped this cutie!  For this layout, I used the Horizon collection for the accents, leaves and rolled flowers.  When I purchased this collection, I was very excited to match my Shimmerz with it to create a fun background. From my collection, I found that Vibes Cold As Ice and Inklingz Precious Posey were near perfect matches!

I used both of these colors, along with a hint of Vibez Pink Moscatto to create today's background! After creating and adhering my rolled flowers to my background, I misted the entire page with Shimmeringz Baby's Breath to give all of the patterned paper paper a subtle hint of shimmer. Baby's Breath is one of those "must have" mists in my collection because its a great layering product for a project like this! Here are additional close ups of my finished layout:

My Highlighter Layout | Shimmerz Paints

Hello Shimmerz Fanz!

Nicole here and today I have a very bright and colorful layout to share with you!
Here's a look at my final layout:

For this layout, I was inspired by a recent cutfile I had used.  I cut a lot of the flowers you see on my background to use the outline pieces to back for another project.  Once I saw my cutting mat, I loved the negative cuts that were left on it and decided to use those and incorporate them into my background!

I began arranging them on a plain white piece of card stock in an order that I liked.  Once I knew where I wanted them to be, I glued them down.  When the glue was dry, I painted a layer of gesso over the entire background and let it completely dry. Next, I sprayed water over the areas I wanted the certain colors and then added my mists and paints to those areas, watering them down again and letting them run in between all of the grooves and edges of the flowers. I did this twice for each color, making sure it dried in between.

Once dry, I pulled several papers from Pinkfresh Studio Simple & Sweet collection and added strips of color coordinating papers on top of the background. When I knew where I wanted them, I lightly taped them down then ran each strip thru my sewing machine.  I also sewed a double boarder around the entire page to tie it all together.

Lastly, I added several embellishments from Pinkfresh Studio, lots of enamel dots, my journaling and title. This layout came together so quick! When you create a background that becomes the showcase of a layout, it limits where you place other elements and how much you can add. Here are a few other closeups:

Shimmerz colors that I used on today's layout are:

Coloringz Peachy Keen
Vibez Frost Bite
Shimmerz It's Mint to be
Shimmerz Sunny

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I hope I've inspired you to create something beautiful!

Best Friends Layout | Shimmerz Paints

Hello Shimmerz Fans!

Nicole here and today I'm sharing a 12x12 layout using a few pieces of the April Missy Whidden Color Kit!  Today, I'm using Vibez Jeni b Bleu, Shimmerz Bumbly bee and the butterfly cut file from the kit along with Vibez Razzeldazzel Berry and Coloringz Ahoy Matey. Here's a quick look at my completed project:

For the layout, I wanted to use some of Paige Evans products since I was using the butterflies from her cut file.  I found this beautiful butterfly paper, however it was from a 6x6 paper pad. I made it work by cutting the paper on a diagonal and then machine stitching it to a piece of 12x12 white cardstock that I previously had gessoed and colored with the Jeni B Bleu and Ahoy Matey.

Once my pieces were stitched together and dry, I layered my photo along with a few of Paige's die cut flowers. I then created my title by putting "best" directly on the flower and "friends" I put on a piece of coordinating paper then fussy cut it out.  I love the look it creates! It also helps the puffy alpha stickers stand out and sit nicely on top of my photo.

Lastly, I created a cluster of flowers, a camera and one of the butterflies from the cut file that I colored using the Vibez Razzeldazzel Berry and Shimmerz Bumbly Bee, in the top right corner to balance my layout.

Here's one more look at the final layout:
