Happy Saturday! Today I'm sharing card #3 in my Valentine's Day card series. this card was made with CC Designs Love Birds. This card was also my first attempt at tim holtz distress markers. I've always only colored with either copics or pencils and recently decided to step out of the box and purchase my first 2 distress marker sets. It was a little rough getting used to coloring the birds and have the colors not mix, but I decided to overcome that by fussy cutting another by bird and gluing it on top. I think that made a world of difference! In the end after I added the twine, I chose to pop the leaves up on foam dots for more dimension so it rested on top of the twine. The sentiment comes from Paper Smooches Bee Mine set and i used the tag die from their Toppers die set.
In the end, my most favorite part of this card is the background. I created it using Tumbled Glass Distress ink smooshed onto my craft sheet, spritzed water and then just pressed layers of splotches of color...making sure each layer of dried in between. After 3 layers were dried completely, I used Mr Hueys shimmer spritz to add the shimmer! I love this technique and am gonna have to do it again really soon!

Valentines Day Card Series #2
Yep, you saw it correct!!! Back twice in the same day for another Valentine's Day Card in my series! I recently received my order from Paper Smooches....sooooo....for this project, I'm using their new set We Totally Click! I've been having waaaaay too much fun with these new stamps!!!!
For this card, I decided to change it up a bit and begin with craft card stock and white craft paint splatters to draw attention to the camera and Polaroid. I followed that by stamping the camera from this set in stazon and colored it with my colored pencils. I am LOVING how colored pencils just pop on craft card stock...especially white! It gives it the full effect, I think! lol Next, I took a small Polaroid die from quickcutz to make the smallest picture ever that fits perfectly into the opening of the camera! I stamped the heart and smiley face on it using the new Sweet Hearts set and popped it up on a foam square to give the illusion of it coming out of the camera. Then I performed stamped surgery. I wanted my sentiment to say "you make my heart smile" to go along with the theme of the card. The stamp that came in the set said "you make me smile." So what I did was inked the sentiment the first time leaving off the "e" in me and stamped that onto my card. Cleaned the stamp really good and then reinked the "y" in "you" and stamped that next to the "m!" Added a little arrow and a cute little heart, and TADA!!! Worked PERFECTLY! Finished the project off with some glossy accents and enamel dots to add just that little punch of color! I absolutely adore this card!

Valentine's Day Card Series #1
Happy Friday everyone!
Today I'm starting my Valentine's Day card series! Yay! It's hard to believe that we just packed up our Christmas stuff and now here we are on to Valentine's Day! This year seems to be flying already!
For my first card, I've chose to work with one of my favorite stamp lines, Paper Smooches....who would have guessed?! lol I used two stamps sets to create this card: Sweet Hearts and Spring Fling. I chose to layer the hearts up the side of the card and then cut around them leaving the edge to focus on the negative space. Then chose to step outside of the box and use the cutest bunny image ever!! Finally I pieced the sentiment together using stamps from the Sweet Hearts sets and accented it with a little washi and enamel dots!
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a crafty weekend!
